The Hanoi Creative Space Design Competition 2020 and the Hanoi Public Art Design Competition 2022 successfully created a platform for innovative ideas that contributed to the transformation of urban spaces and the revitalization of cultural heritage in everyday life. These initiatives laid the foundation for the annual Hanoi Creative Design Festival, where heritage has been continuously reimagined and brought closer to the public through pilot projects.

Building on this momentum, Architecture Journal, under the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA), is launching the Creative Space Design Competition 2026 under the theme “Hanoi – Awakening Urban Spaces”. Organized on a nationwide scale, the competition seeks to bring together architects, designers, artists, researchers, academics, and the wider creative community to generate innovative ideas for the future of Vietnam’s urban environment. The competition forms part of the Creative Infrastructure Development Program, one of the key initiatives of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2026. As the organizing body, Architecture Magazine is pleased to announce the official competition regulations as follows.
