On the evening of 18 April 2026, the closing ceremony of the 15th National Architecture Student Festival officially took place at the auditorium of Vietnamese-German University in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing four days of academic exchange, competition and creative activities to a close in a solemn yet emotional atmosphere. The event welcomed a large number of delegates, government representatives, experts, lecturers and hundreds of architecture students from universities across Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture, leaders of the Vietnam Association of Architects and the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects, alongside academics and students from architecture schools nationwide.

This year’s festival gathered more than 800 students and lecturers, nearly 150 invited guests, as well as hundreds of volunteers and organising committee members. Under the theme “Architecture in the Technological Era,” the festival explored how emerging technologies are reshaping architectural thinking and urban development. Competitions including rapid design, graphic design, sketching and installation art highlighted students’ innovative thinking, collaborative abilities and awareness of architecture’s role in addressing contemporary urban and social challenges, particularly the relationship between people and open public spaces.

Throughout the four-day programme, participants engaged in a wide range of activities, from academic competitions and discussions to exhibitions and cultural exchanges.
Opening the closing ceremony, Architect Nguyen Ngoc Van, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects and Deputy Head of the Festival Organising Committee, reflected on the journey of the event: “Together, we have experienced a memorable journey where design ideas did not remain merely on paper, but truly flourished through the intersection of art and technology, tradition and the digital era. This festival has demonstrated the remarkable growth of the next generation of architects. Although only a limited number of awards were presented, I believe every participant is a winner for having challenged themselves through creativity and dedication.”

Mr. Ha Thuc Vien, Vice Rector of Vietnamese-German University, also praised the spirit of the participants, noting that the festival reflected “a dynamic generation of young architects who are adaptable, interdisciplinary in their approach, yet still deeply sensitive to culture, the environment, people and communities.” He emphasised that these qualities would form an essential foundation for the sustainable development of Vietnamese architecture amid rapid urbanisation and accelerating technological change.

After several days of vibrant competition, the professional contests concluded with a series of remarkable results, highlighting the creativity, interdisciplinary thinking and collaborative spirit of architecture students from across the country. During the closing ceremony, outstanding individuals and teams were honoured across multiple competition categories:
