Architecture Magazine Launches the Publication “Selected Articles from 40 Years of Architecture Magazine” and Hosts the 2026 Gathering

On the afternoon of April 10, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Association of Architects (40 Tang Bat Ho, Hanoi), the Architecture Magazine held a book launch and its 2026 contributors’ gathering in a warm and intimate atmosphere, in celebration of Vietnam Architecture Day. The event brought together multiple generations of architects, researchers, contributors, and partners who have accompanied the magazine throughout its more than 40 years of development.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Central Commission for Communication and Mass Mobilization of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, leaders and former leaders of the Vietnam Association of Architects, local authorities from Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, and Long Bien wards, members of the magazine’s scientific council, as well as representatives from partner organizations, enterprises, experts, contributors, and media agencies.

In his opening remarks, Arch. Dr. Phan Đăng Sơn, President of the Vietnam Association of Architects, emphasized the role of Architecture Magazine as a reputable academic and professional forum that helps shape architectural thinking and disseminate architectural values in society. He commended the editorial team behind the anthology and encouraged the magazine to continue innovating its content, expanding networks, and strengthening professional activities connected to practice.

A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the new Editor-in-Chief of Architecture Magazine. Accordingly, Bùi Thị Thanh Hương officially assumed the position starting April 1, 2026.

Sharing at the event, Editor-in-Chief Bùi Thị Thanh Hương expressed deep appreciation for previous generations and reaffirmed her commitment to further innovating the magazine’s content, enhancing quality, and expanding creative and professional connections to bring architecture closer to everyday life. Speaking about the new publication, she noted:

“Holding in our hands today the book ‘Selected Articles from 40 Years of Architecture Magazine’ brings great joy and pride to the entire editorial team. This publication continues the vision of previous generations, aiming to build a valuable ‘library’ of Vietnamese architecture across eras. It has been meticulously compiled by distinguished educators and former leaders of the magazine, including Prof. Hoàng Đạo Kính, Prof. Nguyễn Quốc Thông, and Arch. Nguyễn Luận, a rare level of academic depth for such a publication”.

Discussing the editorial concept, Professor Hoàng Đạo Kính highlighted that the book is not merely a compilation of materials but also an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of Vietnamese architecture, especially in the context of an underdeveloped theoretical foundation. He emphasized the enduring value of these writings and the need for continued research and theoretical development.

Meanwhile, architect Nguyễn Luận proposed developing thematic anthologies to further leverage the magazine’s valuable archive and called for greater participation from architects in academic discourse.

Alongside professional activities, the program also honored individuals and organizations with significant contributions to Architecture Magazine in 2025. Many architects and experts received the “For the Development of Architecture 2025” certificate in recognition of their roles in research, critique, and professional guidance.

Beyond the formal program, the event created an emotionally rich networking space as part of the broader series celebrating Vietnam Architecture Day (April 27). Continuing the spirit of academic exchange and creativity, Architecture Magazine also organized the “Music and Architecture” program – a unique platform where architects not only share professional perspectives but also express their artistic sensibilities and personal creativity through music.
