Architecture Magazine 2025: Connecting Creativity – Research and Design Practice

In 2025, Architecture Magazine continues to affirm its role as the official publication of the Vietnam Association of Architects – a respected professional forum for Vietnam’s architectural community – while expanding its influence through interdisciplinary connections between architecture and related fields. The magazine also aims to accompany Vietnamese architects in international programs and events. We are pleased to present the magazine’s 2025 journey, marked by clear milestones in connecting creativity, research, and design practice.

A Professional Forum Under the Auspices of the “Common Roof” – the Vietnam Association of Architects

Throughout 2025, Architecture Magazine maintains its position as the official voice of the Vietnam Association of Architects, cultivating a trusted professional forum for the architectural field. Beyond reporting on professional activities, the magazine proactively raises core questions facing architecture amid the country’s transformation and shifts within the profession, creating space for dialogue between theoretical research, design practice, and the evolving dynamics of social life.

Across 12 thematic issues this year, major topics are explored in a systematic manner, reflecting a consistent perspective: research, professional practice, and education form an inseparable whole in the development of Vietnamese architecture. Through this approach, Architecture Magazine plays an important role in fostering dialogue between architecture and other disciplines, generating interdisciplinary synergy toward the shared goal of sustainable development.

Building the Framework for the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2026- Marking Five Years of Supporting the Capital’s Journey as a Creative City

One of the magazine’s notable milestones in 2025 is the development of the framework for the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2026, officially announced on December 10, 2025. This marks the fifth year that Architecture Magazine has accompanied the organization of the festival, which originated as Creative Kick-off Week.

The announcement signals the formal launch of a series of cultural, architectural, and creative activities with increasing scale and depth. These initiatives aim to cultivate a creative economy ecosystem and support the sustainable development of Hanoi as a Creative City.

Publishing the festival framework is not only an organizational milestone; it also highlights the magazine’s role as a connector within the interdisciplinary creative sector – mobilizing resources, unlocking potential, and advancing the formation of a creative industries ecosystem that contributes meaningfully to the growth of Vietnam’s creative economy and its international integration.

Advising Architectural Design Competitions – Expanding the Role in Professional Practice

In 2025, Architecture Magazine also made a clear mark through its role in advising and organizing architectural design competitions. During the year, the magazine participated in consulting and organizing ten major competitions, covering a wide range of project types – from educational buildings and infrastructure to commercial-service developments, public spaces, and urban landscapes.

A particularly significant initiative was the competition “Social Housing Prototype Design Ideas – Toward Sustainable Solutions”. Conducted under the direction of the Prime Minister and supported by the Ministry of Construction (Vietnam), the competition was chaired by the Vietnam Association of Architects and organized directly by the magazine.

The initiative demonstrated the magazine’s ability to connect government agencies, professional communities, and social needs – helping to improve architectural quality in decisions shaping urban and social development.

Media Partnership and Organization of 15 Professional Events

Alongside its publishing activities, Architecture Magazine continued to collaborate in organizing and providing media sponsorship for numerous professional initiatives. In 2025 alone, it supported and co-organized 15 seminars, forums, and thematic discussions.

These events addressed a wide spectrum of topics, including climate-responsive architecture, interior design trends, the use of wood in architecture, green architecture and building renovation, as well as the sustainable development of the construction industry.

Particular attention has been given to educational and practical programs for architecture students and young architects, including workshops, design studios, international design competitions, and interdisciplinary training programs.

Through this diverse network of forums, Architecture Magazine contributes to expanding spaces for professional exchange and strengthening the connections between research, education, and professional practice within an increasingly open architectural ecosystem.

Expanding International Cooperation and Participation in Global Architectural Events

At a time when global architecture is rapidly evolving under the influence of technological change, environmental challenges, and the growing demand for sustainable development, Architecture Magazine is actively strengthening international cooperation. The goal is to connect Vietnam’s architectural community with global forums, exhibitions, and professional exchanges across the region and beyond.

In 2025, the magazine collaborated with partners to organize delegations attending the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2025 in June and the International Built Environment Week 2025 alongside BEX Asia 2025 in Singapore in September.

These events provided opportunities – especially for young architects – to engage with emerging architectural trends, technologies, and materials. At the same time, they opened up broader reflections on professional capacity, the evolving role of architects, and the need for adaptation within the profession in an era of deep global integration.
