VIBE 2025 Marks a Green Turning Point for Vietnam’s Architecture and Interior Design Industry

The VIBE 2025 Trade Exhibition made a strong impression as it showcased the remarkable transformation of Vietnam’s Architecture, Interior Design, and Construction industries. Under the central theme “Net Zero – No Emissions”, this year’s exhibition brought together hundreds of domestic and international enterprises, all committing to tangible actions toward a Net Zero future.

These were not mere promises, they were visible, measurable actions. From booths adorned with living plants and built from recycled materials, to minimized construction waste and pledges to reuse 100% of materials after the exhibition, every detail embodied VIBE’s four core values: Style, Smart, Spirit, and Sustainability.

At VIBE 2025, the “green” trend went beyond function to become an expression of cultural identity. Many Vietnamese exhibitors drew inspiration from local heritage, reinterpreting the Vietnamese spirit in contemporary forms. Notably, Gallery Architect gathered 26 architectural studios nationwide to present their signature works beneath a gracefully curved bamboo pavilion infused with the scent of agarwood – an evocative space reflecting the spirit of ôn cố tri tân (reflecting on the past to renew the future). Continuing this narrative, Mao Trung Home created a vibrant living wall of 290 bamboo clusters in its “Bamboo Forest” installation.

The trend of integrating “living nature” into interior spaces also stood out. Le Jardin introduced live moss varieties such as cushion moss and preserved deer horn moss, paired with a simulated care system (drip misting and gentle spraying) to ensure longevity of 3–5 years. Currently, around four Vietnamese firms are implementing this innovative model.

Recycling was another key highlight at VIBE 2025. Green Pallet showcased engineered wooden pallets made from reclaimed industrial wood waste, featuring high durability and resistance to termites and warping. Phuc My Gia also unveiled its newly developed F-OSB material – a finely textured oriented strand board made from evenly processed wood flakes, offering excellent stability, moisture resistance, and nail-holding capacity.

The Net Zero spirit reached new heights with exhibitors pledging to reuse all materials post-exhibition, proving that sustainability is not just about products – it’s about actions. Gallery Architect confirmed plans to repurpose all bamboo components for future exhibitions, while eco-focused participants returned their plants to gardens for restoration.

The VIBE 2025 Organizing Committee also demonstrated this commitment by constructing its booth entirely from 100% honeycomb paper (from chairs to columns), completed in just three days and carefully designed for dismantling and reuse at upcoming events.

Mr. Nguyen Chanh Phuong, Vice Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized: “We are delighted to see exhibitors taking sustainability seriously – not just as a theme, but as a responsibility. Sustainability, in this sense, means participating in an event that minimizes impact and harm to the environment.”

These initiatives reflect the proactive mindset of leading enterprises, resonating with the direction outlined by Architect Tran Khanh Trung, Vice President of the HCMC Association of Architects, during the CPD session “Culture – Material – Technology in Sustainable Architecture 2050”. This was also the first CPD-accredited event jointly organized by the Association and the exhibition.

With its successful conclusion, VIBE 2025 has painted a hopeful picture of a greener future – where environmental consciousness and sustainable transformation redefine the living spaces of Vietnam’s Architecture, Interior Design, and Construction industries.
