Exhibition Recreates 80-year journey of Independence – Freedom – Happiness

On the morning of August 28, 2025, the exhibition “80-year journey of Independence – Freedom – Happiness” officially opened, marking a historic milestone in the nation’s development. The event is not only an occasion to reflect on Vietnam’s outstanding achievements over the past eight decades but also a strong affirmation of the country’s position on the international stage, while deeply inspiring younger generations with national pride and aspirations for progress.

Attending the opening ceremony were: General Secretary To Lam; former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; members and former members of the Politburo; members and former members of the Party Central Committee; leaders of ministries, agencies, and departments; and representatives of enterprises participating in the exhibition.

This is the largest exhibition ever held, with the participation of 28 ministries and central agencies, 34 localities, and more than 110 enterprises and major economic groups. Over 230 booths were set up across the entire exhibition center, including the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall and outdoor display areas on the East, West, South, and North courtyards.

Nearly 180 industries across fields such as industry, agriculture, commerce, culture, science, education, health, defense, and foreign affairs are being introduced through documents, artifacts, and documentary films. These exhibits comprehensively highlight the country’s outstanding achievements throughout 80 years of development under the leadership of the Party. The displays vividly convey the spirit of creative labor, the richness of national cultural identity, the diversity of regional products, and the dynamism of ministries, sectors, and localities nationwide.

The exhibition is designed with modern, scientific, and professional layouts, offering rich content and engaging presentation. The thematic spaces are organized both chronologically and around the nation’s core values:

  1. Central space “95 Years of the Party Flag Lighting the Way”: Recreating key events, glorious milestones, and successes under the Party’s leadership;
  2. “Vietnam – Land and People”: Showcasing cultural and artistic achievements, honoring the beauty of the country’s nature and its people;
  3. “Economic Locomotives”: Highlighting the achievements of state-owned groups and corporations;
  4. “Nation-Building Entrepreneurship”: Featuring outstanding achievements of leading private enterprises;
  5. “Aspiration for the Skies”: Presenting advances in the aerospace sector;
  6. “Sword and Shield”: Displaying achievements of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army and Public Security forces, including modern weapons and equipment researched, manufactured, and upgraded domestically.

In particular, the entire building named “Culture as the Torch Lighting the Nation’s Path” has been dedicated to showcasing distinctive cultural spaces and the nation’s unique artistic heritage across regions.

One of the exhibition’s highlights is the extensive application of advanced technologies and creative display concepts, many of which are being introduced for the first time at a national-scale exhibition. Virtual reality, augmented reality, interactive touch screens, 3D models, and multimedia presentations are fully integrated into the display areas, enabling the public not only to observe but also to interact, explore, and experience. This approach delivers the exhibition’s content in a more vivid, intuitive, and accessible way.

The exhibition is not only a showcase but also a space that connects past, present, and future; patriotism and aspirations for development; traditional values and modern technology. It affirms the stature of the Vietnamese nation throughout 80 years of safeguarding and promoting the values of Independence – Freedom – Happiness.
