In preparation for the 10th National Young Architects Festival 2025, scheduled to take place in Hue City from September 26 to 28, 2025, Dr. Arch. Phan Đăng Sơn, President of the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA), visited and held a working session with Arch. Hoàng Hải Minh, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, on July 7, 2025, at the Hue City Hall.
Attending the meeting were Arch. Nguyễn Thu Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Architects; Arch. Phan Thế Đạt, President of Hue City Association of Architects; Arch. Bùi Đức Huy, Deputy Head of the Vietnam Young Architects Club, along with representatives from VAA Central Office and Hue Young Architects Club.
At the meeting, President Phan Đăng Sơn presented the objectives, significance, and organizational plan for the 10th National Young Architects Festival 2025. This is a regular professional and social activity of the Association, organized by the Young Architects Club in collaboration with the Hue City Association of Architects, under the direction of VAA Executive Leadership and Hue City People’s Committee.
This year’s Festival takes place in a special context, as Vietnam has completed restructuring its two-level administrative system and entered a new development era under the leadership of the Party. Therefore, the festival’s content and workshops must reflect the aspirations for renewal and the creative passion of young Vietnamese architects in mastering AI, IoT, and Big Data in architectural activities such as heritage conservation, promoting national cultural identity in modern architecture, protecting landscapes and the natural environment, and adapting to climate change – all aimed at creating safe, happy, and sustainable living spaces for the people.
On behalf of the Hue City People’s Committee, Arch. Hoàng Hải Minh highly appreciated and welcomed the Vietnam Association of Architects’ decision to select Hue, the national heritage city, as the host of the 10th National Young Architects Festival – 2025. The city leadership expressed strong interest in the event and committed to close cooperation with the Association to ensure its success. The Vice Chairman also contributed specific suggestions regarding the festival’s organization, including the seminar on “Young Vietnamese Architects in the Digital Era”.
President Phan Đăng Sơn expressed sincere thanks to the Hue City Party Committee, People’s Committee, and especially to Vice Chairman Hoàng Hải Minh for the warm attention and thoughtful support toward the 10th National Young Architects Festival 2025, as well as the Association’s contributions to the preservation and promotion of Hue’s heritage values and the future development of the city’s urban architecture.
The Vietnam Association of Architects firmly believes that, with the guidance and support of Hue City People’s Committee and Vice Chairman Hoàng Hải Minh; the thorough preparation and organizational experience of the Hue Association of Architects and Young Architects Club; the effective coordination between VAA Central Office, local associations, and sub-associations; the support of enterprises; and, most importantly, the participation of young architects nationwide, the 10th National Young Architects Festival 2025 in the beautiful and culturally rich Hue City will be a great success.
The National Young Architects Festival was first held in November 2006 in Sa Pa, initiated by the Vietnam Association of Architects. The event gathers architects from across the country for networking and professional exchange. Now a biennial tradition, the festival has become a popular professional forum with strong social significance, attracting many young and senior architects and receiving enthusiastic support from local governments and communities where the events are held. Each festival, hosted in different localities, has left unforgettable memories and unique impressions on its participants.
