Under the theme “Unity – Democracy – Innovation – Creativity – Development”, the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA), for the 2026-2031 term, has successfully concluded. The Congress marked a particularly important political, cultural and professional gathering for architects nationwide, taking place as the Vietnam Association of Architects continues to affirm its role as a core socio-political and professional organization within the Great National Unity Bloc, under the Vietnam Fatherland Front, in accordance with Conclusion No. 230-KL/TW of the Politburo.

Held at the Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi, the Congress brought together nearly 500 official delegates representing more than 7,000 members, along with nearly 300 invited guests, including leaders of the Party and State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central Party and government agencies and ministries, international organizations, and news and media agencies.

Among those attending were Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and Deputy Prime Minister; former Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung; Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh, as well as current and former leaders of central agencies and ministries, the Hanoi authorities, and a large number of delegates.

In her address to the Congress, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the Vietnam Association of Architects and the country’s architectural community during the previous term.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: “Architecture is the synthesis of artistic creativity, science and technology. Each project not only meets functional needs but also contributes to shaping the appearance, identity and quality of life of a place. Therefore, every architectural creation is not merely a professional matter, but is also closely associated with responsibility to the community, culture and the future of the country.
Over more than 78 years of formation and development, the Vietnam Association of Architects has consistently accompanied the nation and made important contributions to the work of building, developing and shaping the country. The imprint of generations of architects can be seen in the development of urban and rural areas, cultural and social projects, heritage conservation, and increasingly in green, sustainable and climate-resilient architecture”.
Five key priorities for the new term
