On the afternoon of February 25, 2025, at the Hall of the Institute of Design/General Department of Planning and Investment, the Military Architects Congress for the 2025-2030 term took place with the goal of: Completing the organization – Realizing the action targets of the Vietnam Association of Architects and the Military Arts and Culture sector. This is also an opportunity for the Military Architects Association and delegates to review the activities in the past term – Despite numerous factors affecting various aspects, many opportunities and challenges, the member architects of the Association have united to overcome all difficulties, achieving many successes in professional activities, design consultancy and scientific research…
Speaking at the Congress, Architect Hoang Thuc Hao, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Architects, acknowledged the efforts, achievements and contributions of military architects in the past time, encouraged architects to continue to strive, promote inter-sectoral cooperation in scale and in depth, in order to adapt to complex developments in the coming time.
The delegates attending the Congress listened to and agreed on the Report of the Association’s Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term, including outstanding activities in the past term and basic directions and goals for the 2025-2030 term. Accordingly, the Military Association needs to organize and implement well the following directions, goals and solutions:
Implement the action target programs of the Vietnam Association of Architects and the Military Arts and Culture sector
Actively and proactively participate in seminars and conferences; programs of activities according to the term plan organized by the Central Association. Contribute to the good implementation of the professional target program of the Vietnam Association of Architects in the term 2025-2030; in which focusing on building an architectural foundation that promotes traditional values combined with energy saving and technology of the new era, international architectural cooperation, training and development of young architects. Participate appropriately and effectively in scientific research topics, social critiques; breakthrough and extraordinary activities of the Central Association, grassroots Associations and domestic and foreign links.
For advisory programs, propose management and guidance on the implementation of architectural expertise at management agencies at all levels of the Ministry of National Defense
Proactively advise, propose and guide the implementation of professional expertise at management agencies at all levels in the Ministry of National Defense in accordance with the law, promptly removing difficulties in progress due to the implementation time of defense consulting programs. Actively and proactively contribute to the selection of architectural products in the Army with increasingly high quality and identity. Implement the most timely, high quality and effective implementation of sea and island programs and defense emergencies on the basis of focusing on specific factors and saving costs during construction.
Professional practice activities of research and design consulting
The professional practice activities of the Association continue to be implemented at consulting organizations in the Ministry of National Defense. Advise and advise on the field of basic construction for the Central Military Commission and leaders at all levels. The study proposes to promote model design, including the completion of the model of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, Infantry Regiment, etc. to meet the requirements of building a regular army in the new situation; do a good job of planning the use of national defense land, planning the system of barracks for the entire army. Continuously improve the capacity of applied scientific research. Continuously innovate in proposing and organizing quality professional training courses for officers of the entire army. Focus on completing the best extraordinary tasks assigned by the Ministry.
In addition to promoting the unique features of Army architects, promptly drawing experience from consulting programs so that Army architecture can approach and practically accompany contemporary architectural trends, sustainable architecture, and energy-balanced architecture. There are more and more products that are capable of participating well in architectural competitions; promote research to create specific and practical effects.
Organization, construction and development of the Association
Complete the Executive Committee on the basis of having generations and components (old, young, male, female) and covering relatively all fields of work and architectural activities in the Army (design consulting, construction, barracks management, outstanding architects in composition, etc.). On the basis of high solidarity and unanimity, assign specific tasks to each member of the Executive Committee to control the effectiveness of the Executive Committee’s activities each year and the entire term.
Closely following the direction from the Vietnam Association of Architects, the functional agency of the Ministry of National Defense on the activities of the Association, find ways to create favorable conditions for professional activities. Have an action program, a long-term development strategy to promote expertise and attract talent. Promote internal exchanges and connections to gather architects from consulting units in the army. Create an environment for young architects to work, enhance the image of the “Architects in military uniforms”…
The Congress approved the election results of the Executive Committee of the Military Architects Association for the 2025-2030 term, including 13 architects. Assign the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2025-2030 term to complete the records of the election results, report to the Vietnam Association of Architects to issue a Decision of approval according to regulations.
