Phan Dang Son

Page: 25
NEW BREAKTHROUGHS FROM INTEGRATED PLANNING FOR MARINE CITIES
Ngo Viet Nam Son

Currently, the adjustment of the master planning of provinces and cities in view of integrated and multi-disciplinary thinking of the Planning Law approved by the National Assembly in 2017, are facing many difficulties due to the large amount of information to be processed, but it will also open up many opportunities for breakthrough new planning solutions, which do not only help solve many long-time problems, but can also show many new directions for development with a high potential for coastal cities, including those in Khanh Hoa province.

This article highlights three of these new breakthrough directions in the adjustment of the master planning for Khanh Hoa province in three important regions: Van Phong Bay Economic Zone in the North focusing on seaport city development, industry and sea tourism; Nha Trang city and South Ninh Hoa city focusing on developing multi-functional urban areas in the central region; Cam Ranh and Cam Lam urban areas focusing on developing seaport city and airport city.

Page: 45
HOUSING DESIGN SOLUTIONS FOR SOLDIERS IN THE MEKONG RIVER DELTA TO ADAPT TO SEA LEVEL RISE AS A CONSEQUENCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Nguyen Ngoc Thanh & La Toan Thang

Climate change is a real challenge and this risk is increasingly obvious, so climate change responsive actions of the army in general and of the units in the Mekong Delta in particular are mandatory requirements to ensure sustainability and readiness for reactions, as well as the protections of defensive buildings, the healthcare services and the stability of military operations, apart from rescue activities in case of storms, floods, high tides, sea level rise as a consequence of climate change. The units in the army must always be ready to fulfil the missions and special tasks.

Housing design solutions for soldiers to adapt to sea level rise caused by climate change in the Mekong Delta is a very urgent task and should be carried out with other solutions to cope with climate change and to ensure that the soldiers fulfil their tasks, get ready to participate in military operations and win the war. They are an important force of rescue people as reflected in the motto “four tasks to be done on the spot” (on-the-spot command; on-the-spot force; on-the-spot materials and supplies; on-the-spot logistics) in order to minimise damage caused by natural disasters, such as storms, floods, sea level rise, etc.

Page: 48
GREEN SPACES IN HANOI
Pham Anh Tuan

Urban green spaces play an important role in improving the environment and promoting a sustainable development for a city. Urbanisation reduces the scale and impacts the distribution of urban green spaces in the city. They directly affect the citizens’ spiritual lives and causes damage to the sustainability of urban eco-systems. In case of Hanoi, the urban green spaces are seriously affected by uncontrollable urbanisation. They become one of the greatest obstacles for a green, smart, modern city vision and strategy towards 2030 to take shape. First of all, this paper analyses existing conditions of the development of urban green spaces in Hanoi. Then, the author suggests a number of solutions for Hanoi which aim to enhance the efficiency in use and develop the system of urban green spaces in order to meet new demands of the society as well as to deal with the huge impacts of on-going climate change.

Page: 62
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ARCHITECTURE AND SCULPTURE – SIMILAR PERSPECTIVES
Nguyen Viet Huy & Le Thi Hong Van

There are many basic languages of architectural and sculptural forms. In order to have a complete sculpture or building, the authors also have to use certain methods of thinking and designing, such as applying various principles of layout, spatial composition and different built forms, for example: balance, contrast, key and non-key components, composition, division, addition, subtraction, simulation, symbolisation, etc. Highlighting or emphasising one or more elements in a composition depends on the concept as well as the intention of designers. It can be a line or a curve, a 2D surface or 3D shape, etc. It is possible to combine many elements at the same time to create greater visual effects.

Page: 67
SAIGON – HO CHI MINH CITY: PORTRAITS OF ARCHITECTURE
Pham Phu Cuong

As a museum of time, the diverse architectural picture in Saigon – HCMC clearly reflects the city’s three-century development process under specific natural and cultural influences.

The city arose as a gift from the river, where dynamic waterways and roads meet. In the temperate natural conditions, this southern “peaceful land for birds” became the convergence of never-ending flux of migrants from faraway places, both at home and abroad, both East and West, bringing with them the potentials of many cultural lands that have developed for thousands of years.

If we put the typical buildings in each period of the city development into one portrait, we can the names of all those architectural portraits, generally, in chronological order: “Oriental Saigon”, “Occidental Saigon”, “International Saigon” and “Contemporary Saigon”.

Xem thêm: https://www.tapchikientruc.com.vn/tap-chi-kien-truc/tap-chi-kien-truc-so-12-2022.html

© Tạp chí Kiến trúc

Page: 10 FOREWORD FROM THE EDITORIAL BOARD Our dear Readers, Now it is time to say goodbye to the old year with nostalgic thoughts and feel happy and excited with a new year coming.
